Coptrz theory exams are sat online and proctored through ProctorU. Most access problems come down to one of a handful of things.
Check your access before the day
Try logging in at least 24 hours before your slot, so there's time to fix anything without it affecting your sitting. Go to proctoru.com and use the email address you registered for your Coptrz course with. If you never got an account invitation, check your spam folder first, as it comes from a ProctorU address. While you're in there, run the ProctorU system check on your webcam, microphone and connection.
If you can't log in
Reset your password using the "Forgot password" link, and check your spam folder for the reset email.
Use Google Chrome. ProctorU works best in Chrome, so if you're on something else, switch and try again.
Turn off browser extensions, particularly ad blockers and VPNs.
Clear your cache and cookies, then try again.
If Chrome still won't work, use the Guardian Browser instead. See How to download and install the Guardian Browser for your remote exam and What to do if you cannot use the Chrome extension for your remote exam.
If it's exam day and you're locked out
Contact the training team straight away on [email protected] or 0330 111 7177. Tell us your full name and the email address on your account, which exam you're sitting and when, and what happens when you try to log in, including any error message.
If the problem turns out to be on ProctorU's side, we'll rebook you at no cost.
Two things we get asked a lot
My ProctorU account might be under a different email address. Email [email protected] and we'll check which address was used and get you back in.
Can I reschedule if I had technical problems? Yes. If a verified technical issue stopped you sitting the exam, contact the training team and we'll arrange another sitting.
