If you are unable to install or use the Chrome extension required for your remote exam, do not worry. You should use the Guardian Browser instead.
The Guardian Browser is the secure browser used for remote exams and is the correct alternative if Chrome prevents the extension from being installed or used.
What you need to do
Go to the Guardian Browser download page and download the version that matches your computer.
Install the browser on your laptop or desktop before the day of your exam.
Once installed, keep it ready on your device so you can launch and complete your exam through Guardian Browser instead of relying on the Chrome extension.
If you are using a Mac
Please make sure you choose the correct version for your device, as separate downloads are available for Apple silicon and Intel-based Macs.
If you still have problems
If you are still unable to install Guardian Browser, or you are unsure which version to download, please contact support before your exam date so the issue can be resolved in advance.
