What if I have a GVC certificate?

Updated over a month ago

If you hold a GVC certificate, you will only be required to submit flight logs reflecting a minimum of 2 hours of flying time within the past 90 days. Furthermore, as part of the A2CofC course, there is a specific section where you will need to submit your GVC certificate for verification.

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date flight logs is a critical responsibility for GVC holders. These logs serve as evidence of your ongoing flight experience and readiness to operate safely. They are particularly important if you are selected for CAA Performance Based Oversight. To comply with CAA oversight requirements, GVC holders must:

  1. Maintain Remote Pilot flight logs that document at least 2 hours of flight time within the last 90 days.

  2. Ensure that the logs are detailed and accurate, including information such as flight dates, durations, and any relevant operational notes.

Best Practices for Compliance

  • Regular Updates: Update your flight logs immediately after each flight to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Backup Records: Keep both digital and physical copies of your flight logs to prevent data loss.

  • Review Requirements: Periodically review CAA guidelines to ensure your logs meet current standards.

By adhering to these practices, you can demonstrate your commitment to safety and compliance, reducing the risk of issues during CAA oversight.
