Practical Flight Training and Flight Log Requirements

Your self-guided training flights must be conducted within the operating conditions of the Open A1 or Open A3 subcategory, while simulating the operating limitations associated with the A2 subcategory. You must ensure that you are competent in the definitions of these subcategories and fully understand the operating limitations that apply.

Following completion of the practical flight training, you are required to sign the declaration of building block completion. This declaration constitutes acceptable evidence to proceed to the A2 CofC theory examination. The learning objectives for the practical flight training are outlined within the course materials.

COPTRZ assumes zero liability for practical training flights conducted under self-monitored circumstances. The guidance provided within this document is non-exhaustive, and the remote pilot must only conduct a flight if they are reasonably satisfied that it can be carried out safely and in accordance with all applicable regulations.
