Practical flight instruction and assessments take place at our UK training sites. Which aircraft you fly depends on your course.
On RPC-L1 you fly our aircraft, covered under our insurance, so you don't need to bring a drone or arrange your own cover. On GVC you bring your own drone. There's more on this in Can I use my own drone for RPC-L1 training or assessment?

Once you've passed your theory exam the training team will get in touch to arrange your practical. You can also email [email protected] with your preferred location. For RPC-L1, tell us whether you're going for Part A rotorcraft or fixed wing, as that decides which aircraft we allocate.
On the day
We'll send you a location brief and access instructions in advance. Read it properly if your course runs across more than one venue.
Bring your theory pass certificate and your candidate declaration form, and dress for being outdoors in whatever the weather is doing. RPC-L1 candidates don't need to bring anything else, as aircraft, batteries and equipment are provided. GVC candidates need their own drone and charged batteries.
The session covers a pre-flight briefing, flight instruction and then your assessment.
If conditions aren't safe to fly, we'll contact you to rebook. We watch the forecast and will give you as much notice as we can.
